ABOUT US
Mudita Literacy is a nonprofit organization established in order to offer access to literacy development tools and e-books to students and adults in need — and to join together with sponsors who through their support will allow anyone with financial need and who commits to use LightSail 30 minutes each day, 5 days per week in order to improve their literacy.
THE MUDITA VISION
Literacy is the choice to improve individual lives, our economy, and social equity.
We are dedicated to inspiring and igniting a movement for greater literacy – a required foundation to unlock the productivity of individuals, so that they can best contribute to building healthy families and communities, growing the economy, and achieving greater equality.
We will accomplish this through the award-winning, cloud-based, LightSail literacy platform that holistically assesses and nurtures each student’s literacy journey.
Growth will be created through collaboration with individual supporters, and by sponsoring community groups, businesses and nonprofits that are dedicated to revitalizing our country and economy; all while achieving greater fairness for all.
- LightSail will be available at no-cost to students (grade 3 & up) along with adults, who have financial need – of all literacy levels, ethnicities, and socioeconomic statuses – in return for a commitment to read 30 minutes a day. In addition, we will provide literacy options for adults.
- Supporters will gain the satisfaction of watching real-time literacy growth in a given student’s reading, writing, and learning – by contributing a mere $10 per month.
- Organizations will announce their commitment to students, economic improvement, and social equity through improved literacy, and show real-time results in their respective communities by becoming Mudita Sponsors. We will make it easy for organizations, and without any disruption or sponsor fee.
Our caring and passionate team and collaborating supporters will be the soul that drives our vision by producing real-time practical results, thereby reducing the $2.2 trillion now being wasted annually in the U.S. due to low literacy levels. All without the need for any public funding or support.
